The HP H240 Smart Host Bus Adapter comes in a compact x8 PCIe3 stand-up form factor, delivering reliable, high-performance SAS connections to data on internal server drives. The adapter offers eight internal physical connections and 12 Gbit/s SAS performance.
The H240 Smart Host Bus Adapter can operate flexibly in HBA mode or in simple RAID mode. When operating in simple RAID mode, the adapter provides RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 5 with optional HP Secure Encryption features.
Unlike HP Smart Array controllers, the H240 does not offer acceleration and does not support cache modules.
