Hoya UX Circular polarizing filter

The abbreviation UX stands for "User Experience" and follows the motto of designing the UX filters to be as user-friendly as possible. This has significantly improved the coating. For the first time, the ultra-slim filters feature an HMC WR (High Multi Coated Water Repellent) coating, which causes water to bead off and makes it easier to remove dirt.

For the new UX series, the previous coating has been enhanced with two additional WR coating layers on both sides of the glass. This allows water to immediately bead off upon contact with the glass, leaving no traces. In addition to this practical effect, the new coating also prevents streaks and fingerprints. The new 10-layer coating on both sides of the filter glass ensures reliable reflection suppression.

The glass of both filters is held by a new, very thin aluminum frame, which prevents vignetting on wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses.

The Hoya UX CIR-PL filter eliminates unwanted reflections on non-metallic surfaces. The effect of the Hoya UX CIR-PL filter can be adjusted seamlessly via its rotating ring. With circular polarizers, photographers can achieve creative, in-camera effects that are not possible after the image is taken. A polarizing filter filters out unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass, as well as light that reflects moisture and pollutants in the atmosphere. By rotating the ultra-smooth filter, you can select just the right amount of filtration needed for the desired creative effect. This results in a bluer sky, greener leaves, reduced or eliminated reflections, and enhances the clarity of the final image.
