Hoya engineers have developed a new anti-static coating that acts like a force field around the filter to repel dust. These filters are perfect for environments where dust is common, as they require less frequent cleaning and maintenance than traditional filters. Additionally, the hardened, anti-static top layer is water-repellent, stain and scratch-resistant, and easy to clean when stains or fingerprints get on the surface.

With circular polarizing filters, photographers can achieve creative, in-camera effects that are not possible after the image is taken. A polarizing filter eliminates unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass, as well as light that reflects moisture and pollutants in the atmosphere. By rotating the ultra-smooth filter, you can select just the right amount of filtration needed for the creative effect. This results in a bluer sky, greener leaves, reduced or eliminated reflections, and increased clarity of the final image.

The new professional anti-static filters from the "Fusion Antistatic" series are made in Japan from carefully selected silicates that are meticulously melted and blended to create high-performance optical glass. Hoya then applies the utmost care and precision to coat the enhanced 18-layer Super Multi-Coating (on both sides) formula, which significantly reduces or eliminates reflections on the glass surface and achieves very high light transmission rates. This means that the filter has practically no impact on the color balance, contrast, or clarity of the final image beyond its polarizing effect.

The filters feature a lightweight, two-part, very flat aluminum frame to hold the glass. The low-profile frame prevents vignetting when used on ultra-wide-angle lenses.
