Product details
The Homematic IP Access Point is the central element for the cloud-based, intuitive setup and control of the Homematic IP Smart Home system via the free Homematic IP app. The Access Point connects to a conventional router and links the Homematic IP Cloud located in Germany with the Homematic IP devices in your home – all fully encrypted. No registration or user account setup is required during installation. Once the Access Point is connected to the internet, all functions can be accessed via the free app. The intuitively usable app provides a clear overview of all conceivable functions. Adding new devices can also be done easily through the app with just a few steps. If desired, the Homematic IP system can also be conveniently controlled via voice commands (Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant). Thanks to a free field range of up to 400 meters, devices in distant corners can be reliably integrated into the system. The innovative IP radio protocol communicates extremely energy-efficiently on the 868 MHz/869.525 MHz frequency. This results in long battery life for the connected devices, and users are not exposed to continuous radio radiation. The high efficiency is also evident in the energy consumption of the Access Point, which has an average power consumption of 1.1 watts, ensuring no surprises on the electricity bill. Despite its low energy consumption, the base also visually provides users with necessary status updates at all times. For this purpose, the button on the front of the Access Point lights up in different colors depending on the operating condition. The Homematic IP Access Point can be operated lying flat on a table or securely mounted on the wall. Suitable screws and plugs, as well as the necessary network cable for connecting to the router, are of course included.
