Anyone with very powerful amplifiers in their car knows the problem: When the bass hits, the nominal 12-volt electrical system collapses, which is noticeable, among other things, by flickering lights during music playback. A car battery is very powerful but cannot deliver quick bursts of current due to its high internal resistance. These bursts are necessary for very powerful amplifiers to reproduce bass cleanly and dryly.

With the new hybrid capacitors from the Hifonics Zeus Extreme ZXT series, such problems are a thing of the past. Thanks to modern hybrid technology, which uses an electrolyte and a polymer as a film base, it is possible to place the ZXT5.0 with a capacity of 5 farads in compact housings. At the same time, the technology ensures a very low equivalent series resistance (ESR), allowing for super-fast current availability.

The Hifonics Zeus Extreme ZXT capacitors deliver the stored additional power exactly when the subwoofer amplifier needs a lot of energy for heavy bass immediately. The released energy is then recharged from the battery into the power cap for the next bass track. Therefore, the capacitor can buffer and flatten voltage peaks by absorbing excess energy and releasing it when needed. A positive side effect: The lifespan of a vehicle battery can be extended by using a buffer.
