The HD HERO2: Outdoor Edition is the most modern GoPro camera, waterproof up to 197 ft (60 m) for taking professional full 170º wide-angle 1080p video and 11 MP photos at a rate of 10 photos per second.
It is twice as fast and twice as sharp compared to its predecessor, featuring a 1/2.3" CMOS image sensor with resolutions of 11 MP, 8 MP, and 5 MP for photos. The camera has a twice as sharp professional glass lens and various shooting modes including single image, 10 photos (burst), time lapse, and self-timer.
This camera captures full HD movies and 11 MP photos, including a continuous shooting function. It is shock-resistant and waterproof, with an angle of view of 170 degrees and a heated battery compartment for longer performance in cold temperatures.

Im Vergleich zum Vorgängermodell hat der Hersteller dieser Actioncam ein deutliches Plus an Leistungsfähigkeit mit auf den Weg gegeben und die Kamera mit einem umfangreichen Ausstattungspaket versehen. Der Fotograf ist hier jedoch auf gutes Wetter mit hoher Helligkeit angewiesen, wenn die Aufnahmen was taugen sollen.
Wer unterwegs die Action auf dem Mountainbike festhalten will, für den ist dieser Camcorder quasi ein Muss. Das Gerät lässt sich hervorragend befestigen, muss aber Punkte liegen lassen bei der Bedienung, und ein Schnäppchen ist er auch nicht gerade.
GoPro hat seine Actioncam einer Modellpflege unterzogen und hier nun eine deutlich einfacher zu bedienende Kamera geschaffen. Statt Abkürzungen zeigen sich nun kleine Symbole auf dem Bildschirm. Auch die Bildqualität hat sich gesteigert, wobei sie im Vergleich zu anderen Kompaktkameras noch hinten an steht.
Durch die kompakten Maße ist das Filmen im Outdoorbereich relativ gut durchzuführen. Doch aufgrund der fehlenden Ausstattung, muss man beim Hero2 einiges an Zusatzmaterial hinzukaufen, was den Camcorder nicht unbedingt zu einem Schnäppchen macht. Dennoch ist er eine gute Alternative zu seinen Konkurrenten.
…Hobbytaucher sollten also lieber zu speziellen Unterwasserkameras greifen. Alle Freiluftsportlern kann man die Gopro aber uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Aufgrund der identischen Bauweise kann übrigens auch bisher erworbenes Zubehör weiterverwendet werden.
