For longer trips, the fatigue warning feature suggests break times and potential rest areas after you have been driving for several hours. The POI feature along the route shows you points of interest and important locations like restaurants or shops, without needing to leave the map page. The free Garmin Premium Traffic service via RDS-TMC provides details about traffic conditions, such as how many minutes of delay to expect and whether there are any time-saving detours available. You can also confirm if you are on the fastest route. As part of the unlimited traffic subscription, the Drive 50 can receive traffic information for free throughout the device's lifetime—completely ad-free and without subscription costs. Garmin traffic information is sent directly to the Drive 50. You will have even more information while driving if you pair the Drive 50 with the BC 30 wireless backup camera (sold separately; professional installation recommended). Once connected, you can see vehicles, pedestrians, and other obstacles directly on the Drive 50's display when reversing. For trips with a baby or toddler, the Garmin babyCam is a recommended accessory. The babyCam is a baby monitoring camera in the vehicle that allows you to see a live image of rear-seat passengers directly on the navigator's display.
