Size:

Approximately 220mm x 130mm with a height of about 30mm. Miele uses different versions of the base filter under this number. The small hole cutout is sometimes not fully punched out but is easy to remove. There are 2 large holes (approximately 26mm in diameter) and a smaller hole on the top side (approximately 5mm in diameter), as well as a side cutout to mount it in the holder in front of the heat exchanger.

Function:

This foam filter is located at the condensation module of tumble dryers, heat pump dryers, and washing spin dryers to filter lint, preventing it from clogging the heat exchanger. This ensures a longer lifespan for the dryer.

Replacement:

The sponge filter can generally be cleaned under running water. However, if the foam filter is torn, it must be replaced immediately to prevent lint from entering the dryer’s heat exchanger.

Open the flap in front of the heat exchanger (at the bottom of the base - often a recess in the flap for pressing up) - it will spring open. Pull the base filter out by the handle. Remove the foam filter from the handle frame - this allows you to clean or replace the filter.
