The highly absorbent microporous separator of the maintenance-free FG lead battery binds a maximum amount of pure electrolyte and permanently isolates the electrodes from each other. This allows the battery to be operated in any position, even upside down, without loss of capacity. The electrodes are made from a special antimony-free lead alloy, resulting in a very low self-discharge of less than 3% per month. The robust housing material is a shock- and break-resistant as well as corrosion- and aging-resistant ABS plastic. FG lead accumulators are deep discharge safe; they can be recharged after a deep discharge. However, it is generally recommended to recharge immediately after discharge. Accumulators of the same capacity can be connected in series and also in parallel without splitting the load, but they must always come from the same batch.
