FAZER:Plex
PercussionProduct details
The music of Fazer cannot simply be described as jazz; the Munich-based band is influenced by the experimental pop music of Talk Talk, the Afrobeat of Fela Kuti, the Krautrock of Can, and the dub techno of Rhythm & Sound. They masterfully incorporate aspects of all this and more to create their own sonic identity. Each player and their instrument have their own individuality, but together they merge into an organic and fluid overall sound. Martin Brugger, Paul Brändle, Matthias Lindermayr, Simon Popp, and Sebastian Wolfgruber come from different musical backgrounds and met during their jazz studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. With two seated drummers, a powerful groove runs throughout all of Fazer's music, while guitar, trumpet, and bass interact with one another.
