The EX-8221 is an internal PCI V.90/56K hardware fax modem with automatic configuration of I/O addresses and interrupts. It supports ACPI (Advanced Configuration Power Interface). The EX-8221 uses the Conextant 11261 chipset.

Data Mode: Communication: ITU-T V.92, V.90, V.34, V.32bis, V.32, V.23, V.22bis, Standard V.21, V.23 reverse, V.23 Half-Duplex, Bell 212A/Bell 103, V.29 FastPOS, V.22bis fast connect. Data Compression: V.44 data compression (V.92 model), V.42bis, MNP 5. Error Correction: V.42 LAMP, MNP 2, 3, 4.

Fax Mode: Protocols: V.17, V.29, V.27 ter, and V.21 channel 2.

PC Telephony: Supports international telephones, Full-Duplex.
