With its periscope-like lens protruding from the unit, the EH-LS500 literally stands out among the four units. A magnetic cover for the controls is a nice touch, as is the buttons reserved for streaming services on the remote controls, because yes, there are two. This somewhat confusing approach continues with the controls. The star of the Epson beamer is the very balanced picture.
With its high luminous efficiency and powerful colour reproduction, the Epson EH-LS500 is particularly good as a TV replacement for sports broadcasts, series and shows. For evening movie projection, however, it lacks a little contrast and black level.
I would say that the experiment was a success, because with each of the two Epson projectors you can achieve screen diagonals in your living room that you would either have to carry heavy or dig deeper into your pockets to achieve with a TV set. Both the EH-TW7100 and the EH-LS500 can exploit their system-related advantages, depending on the set-up options.
