Elektron Model:Cycles Overview

The Elektron Model:Cycles is a compact 6-track groovebox featuring FM synthesis and a sequencer. Its design and operating concept follow the Model:Samples. The flat housing, along with the compact display and numerous encoders, emphasizes the simplified handling of complex sounds, making it easy for users to get accustomed to. The Elektron Model:Cycles groovebox draws its sonic variety from six different FM models (Machines), which are divided into Kick, Snare, Metal, Perc, Tone, and Chord, revealing much more than what the names might initially suggest. The sounds provided in the project can be organized into kits across six tracks and edited directly with 15 knobs. Parameters for playback functions, LFO, and effects like delay and reverb can quickly create new variations of the sounds produced.

Proven Concept

Of course, the typical Elektron sequencer is also included in the Elektron Model:Cycles groovebox: six audio or MIDI tracks. Microtiming, swing, and individual step lengths from 1 to 64 steps per track allow for exciting patterns beyond the 4/4 grid. Naturally, the beloved parameter locks are also present! All relevant parameters are directly accessible on the surface, eliminating the need to navigate through menu pages. This compact lightweight fits almost anywhere and is ready to use immediately. It is advisable to remember the MIDI adapter cables when changing locations.
