The Electrolux AEG MDA Microplastic Filter A9WHMIC1 reduces the release of microplastic fibers into the wash water. With some effort on your part, the microplastic filter helps to reduce the amount of microplastic fibers that enter the wash water when washing synthetic clothing. This external accessory works with any washing machine and filters out up to 90% of microplastics (microplastics larger than 0.045 mm) from synthetic textiles.

The microplastic filter is powered by the water pressure of the washing machine and does not require an electrical connection. The filter is mounted on the wall using the included screws. Once the microplastic filter needs to be cleaned, the control indicator automatically switches to red. If this occurs during a wash cycle, the washing program can be ended and the filter can then be cleaned.

For optimal filtration, the filter cartridge should be replaced every six months. Whenever the filter control indicator turns red, cleaning of the filter cartridge is required. The included cleaning brush can be used for this purpose. The collected fibers from the cartridge can be disposed of in the residual waste. At least 50% recycled plastics are used in the production of the microplastic filter, thus saving significant amounts of water, oil, and energy.
