The control of the connected light source is compatible with apps from Zigbee 3.0 compatible smart home systems such as Philips Hue and Amazon Alexa. The existing wall switch is connected to the Kobold, making it part of the smart home as well. There are several exciting operating modes: Classic. The Kobold controls connected Zigbee 3.0 light sources via the connected switch. Existing switches gain a broader range of functions, such as switching between created scenes. The function of the switch is defined in the switch editor of the Phoscon app. Device control. The Kobold is controlled by a Zigbee 3.0 device, such as a remote control. Voice control. Commands like on/off and dimming are executed via voice command. For this, a Zigbee-capable voice assistant like Amazon Alexa is required. Apps. Control is done through the app of the used Zigbee gateway. Basic functions. The Kobold directly controls connected Zigbee 3.0 light sources via the connected switch. For this configuration, an initial ConBee II or RaspBee II is required; afterwards, no gateway is needed for control. Strengthens the Zigbee network. With the integrated signal amplifier, the Kobold acts as a powerful Zigbee repeater, increasing the range of other devices such as lights, switches, and sensors.
