Please note the following limitations: VMware does not support 512e or 4Kn hard drives. 4Kn hard drives are only supported on Windows 2012 and on UEFI Boot as well as some Linux versions. 512e hard drives are only supported on Windows 2008R2 or later and some Linux versions.
