D'Angelico guitars are inspiring in every way. Primarily, they are stunning to look at, but beyond all this external show, D'Angelico exceeds every technical and qualitative expectation. In the current D'Angelico collection, you will also find solid bodies and semi-hollow bodies. The full hollow body is 16 inches wide but has the striking depth of a thin line/ES335 hollow body with a depth of only 1.75 inches. The body features a laminated spruce top and beautiful laminated flamed maple sides and back, while the three-piece walnut/maple set neck has an ebony fingerboard. Seymour Duncan developed a series of P-90 pickups specifically designed for D'Angelico, inspired by elements from vintage 1940s designs. This combination delivers a unique sound with a very natural, fresh tone and a wide frequency range. The primary inspiration is that the Excel 59 is a jazz container, but it can absolutely do much more than that! We are obviously considering applications in Americana, but also in the context of pop music, where you want to create a distinctive, authentic atmosphere, the 59 is truly a fantastic choice. This version in a stylish viola finish is equipped with tasteful gold hardware, a D'Angelico tailpiece, and high-quality tuners. The details of the control knobs are also excellent!
