The rounded corners and the coarse structure of the fabrics give the front covers of the Oberon speakers a unique design. The two floor-standing speakers also feature an elegant aluminum base that reduces disturbing resonances. The pole piece of the magnetic systems used in the Oberon woofers is made from a combination of iron and the patented magnetic material SMC. Thanks to the significantly reduced third-order distortions, the Oberon series speakers provide a longer, relaxed listening experience with unobtrusive mids and an astonishing level of detail for this class. The membranes of the woofers are made from a mixture of finely ground paper pulp reinforced with wood fibers, resulting in a stiff, lightweight structure with excellent acoustic properties. Combined with particularly low-loss surrounds and centering spiders, the cone membranes reproduce even the finest sound details with remarkable clarity and precision. In the design of the chassis and crossovers, as well as the materials used, emphasis was placed on ensuring a particularly wide dispersion characteristic. This allows for a highly three-dimensional, well-integrated sound image to be achieved even outside the classic stereo triangle without angling the speakers towards the listening position.
