Essentially, all uncoated polyester fabrics can be printed on, and to some extent, polyester blends (with at least 65% polyester content) can also be used. The higher the polyester content, the more vibrant the colors will be. Cotton cannot be sublimated directly. Ideally, the surface should be white or at least light-colored. For hard goods, a flat surface is required. Unlike a heat transfer or vinyl application, where artwork is adhered to a base material with adhesive, an infusible ink transfer becomes one with the material itself.
