Noise is a bothersome side effect that is caused not only by departing airplanes at the airport and passing trucks in traffic. The sources of noise are primarily all rotating components, particularly fans and hard drives. These should be decoupled, and if necessary, the speed should be reduced. Many cases support these measures and come with appropriate features right from the factory.

Additionally, soundproofing can help achieve even lower external noise levels. This modified version of the Cougar MX200 combines both approaches and comes with pre-installed soundproofing.

The special feature of this setup is that, in addition to the pre-installed soundproofing mats, extra soundproofing material is included. This material is also precisely cut and allows for additional sealing of other case parts. As a result, you have the choice of how much soundproofing you want to install to achieve an individual optimum balance between cooling and noise reduction.
