The Cisco Aironet Power Injector AIR-PWRINJ6 enhances the flexibility of wireless LAN deployment for supported Cisco Aironet access points by providing an alternative power supply option to local power sources, powered inline switches with multiple ports, and power patch panels with multiple ports. The single-port PoE injector delivers up to 30 watts and is compliant with IEEE 802.3af (15.4 W) and IEEE 802.3at (30 W) systems. This power injector is designed for use with Cisco Aironet 2800 Series and 3800 Series access points. The IEEE 802.3at standard provides a maximum of 25.4 watts of power on each PoE port with a voltage of up to 50 volts. The standard assumes that after line losses, 21.90 watts of usable power remain or can be drawn to avoid exceeding the maximum power output. For PoE, a Cat5e/6 cable with a maximum length of 100 m is recommended. With Power over Ethernet (PoE), you can power compatible devices through the network cable. This particularly reduces cabling effort for end devices such as wireless access points, IP phones, and IP cameras while allowing for high flexibility in the placement of these devices.
