Product details
The Hugo M-Scaler is a sophisticated, stand-alone upscaler capable of redefining the sound quality of digital audio. It uses Rob Watts' unique filtering technology, the world's most advanced, to upscale standard 44.1 kHz digital audio up to 705.6 kHz (16 times CD's 44.1 kHz native resolution), ready to be passed to a suitable DAC. The Hugo M Scaler extends its upscaling performance to 768 kHz (from 96 kHz input data) for the dual BNC input DACs: DAVE, Qutest, and the new Hugo TT 2.
The Hugo M Scaler brings the unmatched benefits of groundbreaking FPGA-based WTA (Watts Transient Alignment) filter technology to digitally connected audio devices, greatly improving sound quality. Although the Hugo M Scaler is optimized for use with select Chord Electronics DACs for the maximum upscaling and decoding benefit of 768 kHz, it can be used with other DACs with suitable inputs depending on decoding capability.
The compact form factor of the Hugo M Scaler matches the TT (Table Top) series and is designed to stack with other devices in the series, including the TToby stereo power amplifier and the Hugo TT 2, to create a state-of-the-art yet space-saving system. Consistent with other Hugo and Hugo TT series models, the unit features a series of illuminated bezel-mounted spheres that control input selection, sample rate, and video mode for lower latency. The control spheres visually display data including input source and incoming sample rate, using a polychromatic scale.
Working in conjunction with one of Chord Electronics' 768 kHz-capable dual BNC input DACs, the Hugo M Scaler sets an amazing technical benchmark for digital audio performance and redefines the sound quality of digital audio.
