Aside from Pete's slight modifications that give the new pedal a tighter bass response and somewhat softer highs, it has the exact same gain structure as the high gain setting of the original Pro-Series PlexiTone. It just works better with other amplifiers. The single Plexi also features the new DC-DC converter circuit, allowing the pedal to be powered by a regulated 9V power supply while still operating at the same ±12V level as the original AC-powered PlexiTone. This enables the use of the same high-quality components that deliver the same tone and headroom that set the CM Pro Series apart from others.
