The Carl Martin Red Repeat 2016 Edition effect pedal brings the sounds of vintage tape echo devices to life. From short slap-back settings to longer echo/delay options, the Red Repeat 2016 Edition delivers warm vintage echo/delay sounds.

This type of effect has been used since the 1950s and has helped define the signature sounds of artists like Les Paul, Chet Atkins, Gene Vincent, Brian Setzer, David Gilmour, and countless others. Once the effect is understood, it can usually be easily recognized in their recordings.

Compared to the original Red Repeat, the new Red Repeat 2016 Edition has been enhanced with two features.
1. Tap Tempo: To set the echo time, you tap the Tap Tempo button with your foot. The Manual Time switch position alternatively allows for manual adjustment of the echo speed using the small Time knob.

2. The second new feature is the integrated modulation effect, which opens up new dimensions for a solo with the Depth and Speed controls, making the echo signal subtly flutter or sound chorus-like. It can also be used as an alternative to reverb to add a bit more spatial depth to the sound.

Control Options

TONE - controls the upper mids of the echo for darker or brighter sounds.
