The story of Resident Evil Village begins a few years after Resident Evil 7 biohazard and follows Ethan and his wife Mia, who are living in a new place after the horrific events of the predecessor. Just as they are starting to build their new life together, tragedy strikes once again. Chris Redfield, a legendary hero from the Resident Evil series who made a brief appearance in Resident Evil 7 biohazard, returns and disrupts the couple's life in a terrifying way. Devastated, Ethan must confront a completely new nightmare.

Resident Evil Village is the eighth entry in the Resident Evil series. The game depicts Ethan and Mia Winters happily reunited and living peacefully in their new life after the horrific experiences at the Baker estate, until everything is suddenly turned upside down and Ethan finds himself in the midst of a new nightmare.

The village is more than just a mysterious backdrop for the game's horrific events: it is a character in its own right, with secrets that Ethan must uncover and escape from.
