The AS 85.3 SC is a high-performance active subwoofer with powerful new amplifier electronics. As the powerhouses of any home cinema system, subwoofers carry the emotion of the film action. The AS 85.3 SC's 8-inch compound transducer system with aluminium-graphite cone, the latest wave surround, magnesium die-cast basket and ferrite magnet with copper ring employs a subtle design while ensuring a solid low-frequency foundation. The AS 85.3 SC employs a bass reflex system with a front-fire bass reflex port, guaranteeing a compact design without compromising on sound quality. Thanks to the front-fire bass reflex opening, it can be positioned close to the wall without any problems. The compact, timeless "cube" design, together with the solid cabinet construction, provides the basis for a breathtaking home cinema experience. The sound can be perfectly adapted to the room acoustics and personal listening habits thanks to the switchable room adjustment. The cabinet surface is available in black and white vinyl decor and is fitted with an acoustically neutral metal cover.

The newly developed powerful power amplifier of the AS 85.3 SC also has a high and low level input, controls for volume, phase adjustment, crossover frequency (50...200 Hz) and a practical automatic switch-on function. The power amplifier is also equipped with a low-level output for connecting an additional subwoofer. An acoustically neutral metal cover further enhances the AS 85.3 SC. It provides the necessary protection for the speaker systems without affecting the sound of the speakers.
