The combination of a 4K 1/2.3-inch type CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV6 processor ensures high-quality 4K UHD recordings and, thanks to HD oversampling, also excellent Full HD recordings. Recording formats include MP4 UHD 150 Mbps at 25p and Full HD 35 Mbps/17 Mbps at 50p/25p.

With the 20x optical zoom and a maximum wide angle of 29.3 mm, nearly all desired shots can be achieved. The 5-axis image stabilizer ensures steady shots, while a 3D lens group supports the wide-angle zoom function in near real-time.

The XA40 offers an infrared mode that allows recording even in extremely low or no ambient light. There is an option for recording in white or green mode.

Work as the project requires: With continuous recording in slow motion and time-lapse mode in both UHD and Full HD at speeds of up to 1,200 times.

The XA40 weighs only about 1.2 kg, and the 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD allows for intuitive control. This extremely mobile camcorder supports PCM 4-channel audio with a built-in microphone and two XLR inputs. Additionally, it features two SD card slots for simultaneous or continuous recording.
