B+W UV-IR Cut Filter Cut 486 MRC Basic 52 mm
The B+W 486 UV/IR Cut Filter features steep absorption against unwanted UV and infrared components. In digital cameras, where the IR cut filter in front of the image sensor has residual transmission, it prevents color casts and blurriness. This is achieved not through absorption via glass tinting, but through interference, utilizing a multitude of ultra-thin partially reflective layers of precisely calculated thickness. The B+W 486 UV/IR Cut Filter is colorless and clear, requiring no exposure compensation. It can also be left permanently on the lens as a protective filter. The B+W 486 UV/IR Cut Filter is MRC coated.
