B+W 092 Infrared filter, dark red 695, no coating/Basic 55mm
55 mmProduct details
B+W Infrared Filter The B+W Infrared Filter is the specialty filter for extreme contrasts. This filter allows you to take advantage of the existing residual sensitivity for experimental black-and-white photos with high contrasts. Green leaves and grasses are rendered from bright to white. A "wood effect" with a dramatic contrast between clouds and sky can be achieved. Practical tips - The IR effect only occurs in bright light. - Set the image sharpness before screwing on the filter. - Pay attention to infrared markings (if available) on the lens. - Choose a small aperture. - Determine exposure time through a series of tests. - Use a tripod due to the long exposure times. Note - Check your camera's IR compatibility. Point the IR remote control at the camera and press a function button. If a white light spot appears on the camera monitor, the camera sensor has sufficient residual sensitivity. - IR images must be optimized in the image program afterward. - Convert the color image to black and white. - Increase contrasts automatically, preferably using a histogram. IR Red Dark 695 (092) This less intense infrared filter does not block the entire visible light spectrum and allows for shots with both visible and invisible IR components. The black-and-white contrasts are not as high.
