For the resolution, the BenQ W1720 relies on the proven 4K-UHD resolution with 3840 x 2160 pixels. Thanks to the 4K resolution, it provides a razor-sharp image, making it ideal for displaying UHD Blu-rays or 4K streams, for example from Netflix. The 4K resolution of the BenQ projector also offers an interesting basis for gaming.
Since not all material is available in 4K today, but still in Full HD, the BenQ projector offers a good upscaling function to 4K, allowing you to enjoy optimal image quality.
The BenQ W1720 is well positioned when it comes to color reproduction, as it can display 100% of the Rec. 709 color space, providing the standard used for HDTV content. The colors are displayed in a particularly natural way, resulting in excellent image quality. The 100% Rec. 709 color space is achieved thanks to the RGBRGB color wheel fitted to the W1720.
BenQ's own technologies ensure optimally coordinated image quality, including CinemaMaster Video+ and CinematicColor technology.
One point that sets the BenQ W1720 apart from its predecessor is its compatibility with the HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) and HDR10 standards. Thanks to these compatible standards, the 4K projector is prepared for upcoming standards, ensuring it will work with new technologies in the future. HLG and HDR10 will set the standard for high-quality 4K content in the coming years, making the BenQ W1720 a safe choice.
In terms of home cinema features, the BenQ W1720 also offers a 3D function. Although it does not display 3D content in 4K but in 1080p, this is standard for DLP projectors. You can connect a 3D Blu-ray player directly to the projector and get started. For 3D glasses, the W1720 relies on DLP Link technology, with the 3D shutter glasses available optionally.
