There is no question that "Grid 2" is also a very good racing game, which scores particularly well with its fun driving behaviour, extensive fleet of vehicles and varied racing series and tracks. From a technical point of view, it is also one of the best titles in the genre. The only problem is that the career mode - the core of the game - is so monotonous and, in my opinion, the developers have overdone...
Grid 2 does not offer the wealth of tasks and free-roaming world of "Forza Horizon" - nor does it want to. The game has an almost radically simple structure, with the exception of a few ESPN inserts, it is calmly staged and routinely good in terms of controls and the actual racing action...
I was unsure whether I would actually have fun with GRID 2 and it took some time for the game to convince me of its qualities. After many hours spent playing the Forza and DiRT titles over the last few years, I needed to switch to a lead-foot arcade racer. All the mediocre Need for Speeds had turned me off this type of game and, for some unknown reason, I didn't really warm to the first GRID either...
