Product details
Axis T8606 Ethernet Media Converter
From Ethernet to Fiber
The media converter switch can be connected in a daisy chain network. The maximum number of cameras that can be connected in this daisy chain network depends on the bitrate generated per camera. Limitations include the 100 Mbit data connection between the camera and the media converter switch, and the 1000 Mbit data connection between the media converter switches. The Axis T8606 does not support IGMP Snooping.
For Long-Distance Connections
Fiber optic connections are commonly used for monitoring urban spaces, airports, and other large facilities that are at risk of lightning strikes or where long distances need to be covered. With outdoor monitoring integrators, installation monitors and laptops can also be connected to the Axis T8606 to maintain and control cameras.
Easy Conversion, Quick Installation
The media converter switch is compatible with all Axis network video products. The product connects to the Axis T8606 via RJ-45. Through two SFP ports, installers can flexibly and cost-effectively connect cameras to the network over long distances. Additional cameras or temporary laptops for on-site system maintenance can be connected via the RJ-45 ports. The Axis T8606 can also be easily installed according to DIN standards using the DIN rail clip A Axis T91A03.
