Atlus Persona 5

In Persona 5, the story revolves around the inner and outer conflicts of a group of extraordinary high school students.

It consists of the protagonist and a series of companions he meets throughout the story, with whom he leads a double life as so-called Phantom Thieves.

On one hand, they live the typical life of normal high school students in Tokyo—attending classes, participating in after-school activities, and working part-time jobs. On the other hand, they also experience fantastic adventures by using supernatural powers to delve into the hearts of people. These powers stem from the Persona—the Jungian concept of the "self."

The heroes of the game realize that people are forced by society to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerability. By literally tearing off their protective masks and confronting their inner selves, the heroes awaken their immense inner powers, which they then use to help others in need.

The overarching goal of the group of Phantom Thieves is to adapt their everyday world to their unique perception and to see through the masks that today's society wears.
