The Asus WS X299 Pro is based on the Intel X299 chipset and supports Intel processors for the LGA 2066 socket. The memory of the WS X299 Pro can be upgraded to a maximum of 128 GB DDR4 across eight memory slots, supporting Quad-Channel. Additional features include four PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and one PCIe 3.0 slot. The WS X299 Pro also has two Gigabit LAN ports, six SATA3 connectors, two M.2 connectors, one U.2 connector, four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one USB 3.1 Type-A port, and one USB 3.1 Type-C port.
