As part of the Wave 2 evolution of the 802.11ac standard, the Multi-User MIMO technology was introduced. By utilizing Multi-User MIMO, this device can stream data to multiple devices simultaneously. This allows your Wi-Fi network to deliver faster throughput to each connected client, resulting in quicker downloads and lag-free streaming for your devices. The 802.11ax standard is the next generation of Wi-Fi technology, which has been continuously developed over the years and introduces innovation once again with this version, also known as Wi-Fi 6. The standard builds on the advantages of the 802.11ac standard and enhances them with efficiency, flexibility, and scalability. This enables higher speeds and capacities for next-generation applications, both in new and existing networks. This network-capable device is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) through the LAN cable. The main advantage of PoE is that you do not need a separate power supply cable. This allows you to install Ethernet-connected devices even in hard-to-reach places or in areas where many cables would be disruptive. You save on installation costs and can increase the reliability of connected devices by using a centralized uninterruptible power supply if desired.

Key specifications

Operating modes

Describes the function the device plays within the network, for example as a central transmitter, amplifier or connection bridge. A device can often support several modes.

Number of RJ45/LAN ports

Max. port speed

Describes the maximum data transfer rate. Is not necessarily supported by all ports.

Wi-Fi standard

Indicates which Wi-Fi protocol a device supports. Newer standards offer higher data transfer speeds and greater stability. A compatible router is required to use this feature.

Wi-Fi frequency band

The frequency band of a WLAN signal describes how many 2.4GHz or 5GHz signals the router can send simultaneously.

A router that uses dual- or even tri-band technology can better distribute the load in the network and thus rarely reaches its limit in terms of WLAN speed.
