The kryoM.2 evo is a PCIe 3.0 x4 adapter for single-ended M.2/M-Key NGFF PCIe SSDs and is compatible with the 2280 frame size. Outstanding features of the kryoM.2 evo include a large passive cooler for the top of the SSD, an integrated heat sink for backside cooling, configurable LED illumination, and an additional activity indicator. A silicone seal protects the SSD from environmental influences and serves as a light guide for the LEDs. PCIe lanes are impedance controlled for high signal quality, and the PCIe connector has a hard gold coating. The PCB is completely gold-plated, and the slot bracket features improved ventilation.
During assembly, the SSD is pressed between the full-surface passive cooler and the rear-side cooler using heat-conducting pads for optimal cooling. Both radiators are made of aluminum and anodized black. A silicone insert on the outside protects the built-in SSD from environmental influences and is illuminated all around in a warm orange. The illumination can be switched on or off as desired or can light up when the SSD is active. An additional SSD logo on the back of the board (facing upwards in ATX cases) is backlit when the SSD is active.
The highest quality was ensured for all components: the PCIe contacts are coated with hard gold, and the PCB is completely gold-plated. The M.2 connector uses brand-name quality from Amphenol or Kyocera, and the impedance of the conductor tracks is controlled.
Dimensions are approximately 128 x 93 x 23 mm, including the slot bracket.
Scope of delivery includes the adapter board, a passive cooler for the top side made of black anodized aluminum, a passive cooler for the rear side made of black anodized aluminum, and mounting material including heat conducting pads.
Please note that the SSD is not included in the delivery. The adapter is compatible with M.2 style 2280 (width 22 mm, length 80 mm), height S1/S2/S3 (one-sided mounting, maximum component height 1.2/1.35/1.5 mm, corresponding to a maximum of 2.3 mm including PCB), M Key.
