AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX

AMD's Ryzen Threadripper enters its second generation. With the flagship model of the second generation, the Threadripper 2990WX, the Texans introduce a 32-core processor in the race for the crown in the high-end desktop segment (HEDT). Up to 64 PCIe 3.0 lanes are provided by the Threadripper CPUs of the 2000 series, supporting gaming systems and especially workstations with two fully connected high-end graphics cards as well as multiple NVMe PCIe SSDs. Additionally, at least 1 TB of DDR4 RAM is supported in the particularly fast quad-channel mode with native clock speeds of up to 2,933 MHz, creating the necessary memory capacity for professional applications and server functions. Depending on the motherboard, memory with significantly higher clock speeds can even be used through overclocking to extract even more performance from the Ryzen Threadripper CPU.
