Echo Spot features second-generation far-field technology with four microphones, beamforming technology, and improved noise cancellation, so it can hear you even from across the room – even when music is playing. Als Informationsquelle und Radiowecker ist der Spot bestens geeignet. Kompliziertere Aufgaben wie etwas Flugbuchungen oder Essensbestellungen sind dagegen über jedes Tablet weit schneller und bequemer erledigt, da das Display des Echo Spot (noch) nicht sinnvoll in die meisten Skills integriert wurde.

Zwar klingt der Spot deutlich besser als der kleine Dot, doch mehr als ein akzeptables Küchenradio ist er damit immer noch nicht. Zur Hintergrundbeschallung bei der Arbeit oder beim Zähneputzen taugt er aber durchaus. Wem das Konzept zusagt, der erhält hier ein interessantes Gerät, das niemand wirklich braucht, welches jedoch einige Situationen durchaus erleichtern kann.

Der neue Echo Spot hat beides: Klein wie ein Reisewecker, zeigt er über das runde Display etwa Nachrichtensendungen und Fotos an, startet Videotelefonate mit anderen Spot-Besitzern oder lässt Eltern sehen, ob beim Baby nebenan alles okay ist...
