Amazon is breaking new ground with the Amazon ECHO Show 15. The large, networked display looks particularly good on the wall and upgrades the smart capabilities of the Alexa system. In addition to smart home control via widget and voice control, the fully-fledged Fire TV in particular should represent real added value for many users...

The Echo Show 15 is a complete, all-in-one organisation tool for the modern home. Is it worth it? Yes, as long as you maintain a suitably extensive smart home and live with several people in one household. For a single person, the variety of functions is too much and can be achieved more easily and cheaply via one or more Echo Dots and a tablet.

Although the Echo Show 15 offers neither a rotating mechanism nor an integrated smarthome hub, it is still enough for a good final score for the top model.

Despite hardware weaknesses (especially in the camera and sound), the Echo Show 15 meets all the requirements to serve as a digital family manager. Unfortunately, it is the personalisation function that is currently disappointing: apart from notes, the Smart Display hardly offers any individual displays - and even the few elements do not always contain interesting information...

Sure, news, recipes and the like are fun on the XXL display. For 250 euros, however, the Alexa experience in the picture frame seems too immature. Wigdets and facial recognition are appealing, but they also end up on older Echo Show devices. Currently the better choice: the more appealing Show 10 with swivel display.
