Product details
Compact cases are becoming fashionable again thanks to HTPCs and Mini-ITX, along with small CPU coolers. Contrary to the general bigger-is-better trend, the main requirement here is not to achieve maximum cooling performance. Instead, a small size, particularly a minimal height, is sought.
Following the principle of a round, top-blowing fan, the K32 from Akasa is designed. The heatsink is mounted directly onto the processor. Unlike many other CPU coolers, which use an orthogonally arranged fan, this one blows directly onto the heatsink and the processor. Thus, the entire cooler, with a height of less than 6.3 centimeters, is perfect for compact HTPC cases and Mini-PCs.
A 92 mm fan is mounted on the heatsink. The fan is controllable thanks to PWM technology, with a speed range of 600 to 3,000 RPM. This results in a minimum noise level of 17.2 dB(A) and a maximum airflow of 96.52 m³/h. The cooler is approved for CPUs with a TDP of up to 95 watts.
The K32 from Akasa also provides cooling for the surrounding motherboard components due to its fan arrangement. Installation is done using push pins on Intel sockets 775, 1150, 1151, 1155, and 1156.
