With the adapter card offered here from Akasa, an NVMe PCIe SSD in M.2 form factor can be used in a PCIe x16 expansion slot. It is based on PCIe 3.0, but is also backward compatible with PCIe 2.0. The card is suitable for formats ranging from 2230 to 2280. Its low-profile design, with a height of only 31 millimeters, makes it ideal for particularly flat cases and server racks. The PCB of the adapter card is black, and the included passive heatsink for the SSD is also black.
