Product details

Stratos is a true retro model made from components of the original series from the 1980s. The model was awarded Model of the Year in 1983. It is entirely constructed from wood. The design includes a control system over 2 axes. Stratos is a lightweight thermal glider that can also be flown very well in light slope lift. Its low-drag wing profile and sleek, elegant fuselage shape provide a flat glide angle at higher flight speeds. However, Stratos is not a speed model; it is a leisurely thermal glider that knows how to take advantage of the slightest updrafts. The kit is aimed at retro enthusiasts who enjoy building models from the 1980s. The kit includes all components made from stamped or milled wood, small parts, and a vacuum-formed ABS canopy. Wing area approximately 51 dm². Wing loading starting from about 22.5 g/dm².
