Advantech ADAM-6541/ST

The ADAM-6541 is designed to convert Ethernet networks into fiber optic networks. This is achieved through the transparent conversion of Ethernet signals into optical signals. The advantages of fiber optics include high bandwidth, immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI), and the ability to transmit over long distances. Therefore, the ADAM-6541 is an ideal solution for "Fiber-to-Building" applications in central offices or local sites. The ADAM-6541 supports automatic MDI/MDIX detection, eliminating the need for crossover cables. Both the Ethernet port and the fiber optic port feature memory buffers that support store-and-forward mechanisms, ensuring that data can be transmitted properly. The ADAM-6541 is extremely compact and can be mounted in three different ways: on a DIN rail, on a wall, or stacked. It operates normally from 0 to 60 °C and accepts a wide voltage range of 10 to 30 VDC. Additionally, it offers surge protection of 3,000 VDC (EFT), making it suitable for harsh operating environments.
