Rex leaves Hong Kong just as Quarry emerges from the river and Circe hands over the blueprint. Later, it turns out that Circe is only helping Van Kleiss so she can become a normal girl again. Back in Providence, Rex's brother, Caesar Salazar, tells Rex that Van Kleiss will never be able to create another Omega-1 nanite because he has a quarter of the blueprint stored in his head.
