Servos are part of the RC system and thus the foundation of a remote-controlled model. They are connected to the steering linkage and convert stick or rotation movements from the transmitter into steering movements for the vehicle. In combustion engine vehicles, they also function as throttle servos, operating both the throttle valve of the carburetor and the brake. An undersized servo has a longer response time and a shorter lifespan under load. Therefore, never skimp on the servo! A good servo doesn't have to be expensive, but it makes the model more reliable and lasts for years. For RC cars in 1/8 and 1/10 scale, only standard-sized or low-profile servos are used.
