Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) with Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) according to IEC/EN 62606 and IEC/EN 60898-1 provides protection against series and parallel arc faults, overcurrent protection (overload or short circuit), surge protection (only for internal AFDD), and protection against electrically ignited fires in accordance with DIN VDE 0100-420. Mandatory application areas according to DIN VDE 01000 are in single-phase AC systems with In = 16 A in sleeping or living areas of homes and day care facilities for children, disabled or elderly individuals, or in barrier-free apartments, as well as in rooms or locations with fire risks, predominantly made of combustible materials. Generally, the AFDD is also recommended to enhance fire protection against electrically ignited fires. It features an LED indicator to identify the cause of tripping. Its patented connection terminals with Push-In technology ensure easy and secure contact and handling. Up to 2 x 4 mm² conductors can be connected to the upper outgoing Push-In terminal.
