Will this mount hold without the table clamp? Or is the base with the USB hub too small to support the weight of the monitors?

The holder definitely needs to be fixed. Unfortunately, with this product it is apparently not possible to fix the bracket directly into the tabletop via drilling/screwing. This would be possible with the Arctic Z2 Pro with USB 3.0 Hub (table, 13 - 27 ", 2).
