Question about Nikon HB-45/ HB-33, lens hood

Hello, The product was purchased for the Nikon 18-55 3.5-5.6 zoom lens and does not work. After researching the model 18-55 3.5-5.6 G II requires the HB 69 lens hood. Is a change possible?
