On the manufacturer's page it says: "JBOD (Single)". Does that mean that each hard disk can be controlled individually? Or are they all combined into one?

According to "http://www.raidsonic.de/products..."

"The IB-RD3680 is the largest RAID/JBOD enclosure we currently offer. A full eight HDDs can be accommodated in this enclosure. It is available in two different versions, one as a non-RAID and one as a RAID enclosure with the modes 0/10/5/50/BIG (spanning)."

My guess is that this variant is only JBOD (just a bunch of disks) and the enclosure itself cannot provide several hard disks to the outside as a Raid. This would have to be done by the OS.
