    The battery lasts and lasts...

After my Polar Ignite was defective, I bought a Polar Vantage M and have not regretted the change. Personally, I find it easier to use the push buttons on the side of the watch than the Ignite's touch display, which didn't always respond reliably anyway.
I have now been using the watch for a little over a month and have only charged it twice so far. OK, I only wear it on the days when I do sport (3-4 times a week). I rarely put the Polar on my wrist at night. The battery lasts a long time. In addition, the heart rate monitor of the Vantage M is, in my experience, more reliable and accurate than that of the Ignite. Comparisons with the values from my chest strap have shown this. I have no problems at all with the frequently criticised display brightness. On the contrary. The time is always displayed legibly, but not too conspicuously. Another thing worth mentioning is that the "Polar Flow" app offers a lot of evaluation options and allows you to choose from countless sports profiles (hiking, jogging, indoor rowing, strength training, etc.). I think everyone will find what they are looking for. All in all, it's a good product - which is why I give the Polar Vantage M a clear recommendation to buy.
Another note: The watch allows the "do not disturb" mode. This means, for example, that no notifications are displayed at night and the display remains dimmed. You can set this directly on the watch via "Settings | Do not disturb" by entering the period (from - to) in which you do not want the watch to be active.

    Heart rate monitor

Compared to earlier Polar pulse watches, poorer readability. Especially indoors, the watch often reduces the display too much.
Certain configurations require the app, others can only be selected on the watch itself.

25% can be used, the rest is gimmicky

Maybe I just have too high expectations, but the heart rate measurement only works to a certain extent, and everything else, such as training status and training analysis, are pure calculations based on the measurements. The sleep data is a gimmick anyway... what works is the location, altitude and distance data. The display is very good and adapts to any daylight. With the Polar app, you have a good log of your data.

    Pro

    • Distance, altitude metres ok
    • Easy to read display

    Contra

    • Heart rate accuracy
